NORCAL January Meeting
July 1, 2009
The July NORCAL Meeting will be held on Saturday, July 18th.
The meeting, hosted by the San Francisco Sabercats,
will be held at SDI Installation Corp
in Burlingame.
370 Lang Road, Burlingame, CA 94010. Enter glass doors and go upstairs.
Closed executive session at 9AM, full meeting at 10.
NORCAL May Meeting
May 16, 2009
The May NORCAL Meeting will be held on Saturday, May 16th.
The meeting will be held at
Redwood Empire Ice Arena in Santa Rosa.
The address is 1667 West Steele Lane, Santa Rosa, CA.
Closed executive session at 9AM, full meeting at 10.
State Titles: San Jose Pee Wee A1; Santa Clara Bantam A1; Fresno Pee Wee B; San Jose Ban B

State A Championships
10 teams from NORCAL traveled to Simi Valley to take part in the
CAHA State A Championships, held April 3-5. The San Jose Pee Wee A1
team defeated Tri Valley 4-1 to win the Pee Wee division.
The Santa Clara Bantam A1 faced Capital Thunder
in an all-NORCAL final. Santa Clara won 4-2.
State B Championships
6 teams from NORCAL traveled to Escondido to take part in the
CAHA State B Championships, held March 27-29. The Fresno Pee Wee B
team defeated Bakersfield 3-1 to win the Pee Wee division.
The San Jose Bantam B team faced the
Fresno Bantam B team in an all-NORCAL
championship, and San Jose brought the
championship home with a 4-1 victory.
NORCAL A and B Championships
The NORCAL A and B Championships were contested March 20-22
at Sharks Ice at San Jose.
The top 4 finishers in
regular season play qualified to play in the championships.
The top two finishers in the NORCAL Playoffs
in each division qualified to play on
Sunday for the NORCAL championship, and both
represent NORCAL in the CAHA State Championships.

Jordan Kocian Award Winner - Matt Hanlon of Santa Rosa

The Jordan Kocian Award was instituted in 1997
by the family of the late NORCAL hockey player, who
died unexpectedly at age 21.
The award is presented to a last-year midget player who
has demonstrated his love of the game together with
successes in other aspects of his life.
This year's winner is Matt Hanlon
of the Santa Rosa Flyers Midget A team. He will be presented
with the award during the NORCAL playoffs on Saturday,
March 21 in San Jose.
